Salon '‘It is very snobby, very elegant, but with a new formula for elegance,’ Vivienne Westwood told Suzy Menkes of the International Herald Tribune when discussing her spring / summer 1992 collection. ‘What people did in the past was such a sensation. But I am quite happy trying to do something from the past in a modern way.’ Inspired by The Golden Age of Couture, the collection took inspiration from the intellectual notion of a Salon, as a gathering place for like-minded and intellectual people to converse.
