A rare Steiff 'Gallop-Teddy'
one silver tipped brown plush covered bear on all fours with brown and black glass eyes, black horizontally stitched nose and mouth, blue mohair ruff and original bell and button in ear, the other with white mohair, black bead eyes, black horizontally stitched nose and mouth, green mohair ruff and bell, standing on red painted wooden wheels joined by metal frame --7in. (18cm.) long, circa 1926 (scuff marks to wheels, small wear to white bear)

The Steiff Gallop bears are so-called due to the galloping movement performed when they are pulled along. Nine thousand examples were produced from 1926 until 1929.
