A GERMAN ORMOLU-MOUNTED AND BRONZED MAHOGANY SECRETAIRE
CIRCA 1815-1820, POSSIBLY BERLIN
The pediment top mounted with ormolu acanthus leaves beneath its upper molding, above two cabinet doors, a fall-front opening to an interior fitted with small drawers, the lower section with two long drawers and an additional hidden drawer concealed in the base molding, mounted with an oak wreath, a mask of Mercury and bands of meander, acanthus and palmettes, the keyplates hidden by ormolu rosettes
