Lot Essay

The present Rolex Datejust reference 1601 features a very rare so-called black 'confetti' dial as under close inspection, the matte finishing has an assortment of colors specs including hues of reds, blues, greens, yellows, and oranges. These factory Rolex dials were seldom used in the late 1960s-70s and have gained in popularity for their beauty and rarity over the recent years by collectors.
