Lot Essay

Adèle Romany, or Romanée, was a student of Jean-Baptiste Regnault. Known for her portraits, she exhibited at the Salon under her pseudonym 'Romany' from 1793 to 1808, and later under 'Romanée' from 1808 to 1833.
