Compare the more simply rendered Hongshan jade bird pendant in the British Museum illustrated by J. Rawson in Chinese Jade from the Neolithic to the Qing, London, 1995, p. 117, fig. 1:5, and another example with smoother, more simply rendered features, sold at Christie’s Hong Kong, The Chang Wei-Hwa Collection of Archaic Jades, Part I – Neolithic period, 27 November 2019, lot 2704.
