signed on the stand Societé genevoise Instruments Physiqùes & Mecanique Genéve, the prismatic sighting tube mounted on a limb with counterbalance and vertical circle with finely engraved silvered scale, vernier and magnifier, the axis with adjustable specimen holding arm adjusted by tangent screw with micrometer fine motion scale with vernier, the circuit stage with silvered scale and finely adjustable ground glass hemispherical table, with centre light source tube and adjustable plano-concave mirror, the Y-shaped base with tapering pillar stand with various objectives, additional telescope with iris diaphragm and other items in fitted fruitwood case with nickel-plated carrying handle -- 15¼in. (38.7cm.) high
