"The European Kestrel is so well known and is probably the falcon that most illustrators and bird watchers are totally familiar with. The colour and proportions of the bird, particularly the male, are wonderful. An old farm building, part of which is shown in this painting, is typical of my local Kestrel's habitat and is a source of inspiration for many of my paintings."
