Lot Essay

Christie's is honored to offer the present Patek Philippe Calatrava reference 5127 in yellow gold, reportedly and formerly owned and professional boxer and Filipino senator Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao. According to the affidavit from the Republic of the Philippines, Mr. Pacquiao purchased the timepiece on 6 October 2007 after successfully defeating Marco Antonio Barrera in Las Vegas. Later, he gave it to his son Emmanuel Joseph Bacosa Pacquiao, a rising boxing star who is following his father's footsteps. Further backing the timeline of this wristwatch, the Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirms the manufacture of the watch in 2005 and its subsequent sale to the retailer on 24 October 2005. This lot represents an ultra-rare and exclusive opportunity to own classical, modern Calatrava timepiece from one of the world's most foremost brands with the added bonus of interesting provenance.

Reference 5127
The reference 5127 was launched in 2005. This model is part of the elegant Calatrava family and was designed with the same austere beauty as the first Calatrava, the reference 96. The 5127 combines a perfect balance of classic with modern touches, giving this watch versatility.
