Early and rare, the present Rolex Daytona reference 6239 features a 'Small Daytona' dial in which the Daytona text is below 'Cosmograph' in smaller text at the top, as opposed to the later and more common 'Cherry Red' Daytona text above the 6 o'clock register. In fact, the reference 6239 and its sibling reference 6241 were the first models to say 'Daytona' on the dial. This subtle, yet striking detail is rare and very collectible amongst vintage Rolex enthusiasts. Furthermore, the watch features a striking silvered sunburst dial with black sunken subsidiary registers and its original early tachymetre bezel graduated to 300 units, rather than the later and more common 200 units.
