Lot Essay
The ébéniste Hippolyte-Edmé Pretot (1812-1855) is recorded at 16, rue de l'Abbaye in 1836 and 11bis, rue Saint-Germain-des-Prés in 1841. From 1846 he was located at 3 and 5 rue du Harlay. He presided over an active Parisian atelier which exhibited at the 1849 Exposition Nationale and the London exhibition of 1851, being awarded a second class medal for his inlaid work at the latter.
