The vase of gu form, carved all-over with chilong dragons flying amid clouds, the foliate scrolling rim issuing acanthus-cast bifurcated handles, on a pierced and scrolled spreading base
20 ½ in. (52.5 cm.) high
Provenance
Either acquired by Edward Lascelles, 1st Earl of Harewood (1740-1820), or his eldest son, Edward 'Beau', Viscount Lascelles (1764-1814) for Harewood House, Yorkshire;
Thence by descent to George Lascelles, 7th Earl of Harewood (1923-2011); Christie's, London, 1 July 1965, lot 50.
With Rosenberg & Stiebel, New York.
Acquired by Annie Laurie Aitken (1900-1984) and Russell Barnett Aitken (1910-2002) from the above, 25 February 1969.
