Lot Essay

Randia frutescens, now called Rosenbergiodendron formosum (blackberry jam fruit) is a small evergreen bush-shrub which produces white flowers. The flowers, which are illustrated in Ehret's drawing, are star shaped, tubular and very fragrant.
