NOTE:
The recipient of this work, Xianhua, was the late Hong Kong Taoist master Lai Hin wa. He served as President of the Hong Kong Taoist Association and as Permanent President of Fung Ying Sin Koon. A passionate patron of culture and the arts, Lai actively fostered Taoist exchange between Hong Kong, Mainland China, and the wider world, becoming an important bridge for religious dialogue across the region. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to community service and religious development in Hong Kong, he was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star by the HKSAR Government in 2008. Tracing his ancestral roots to Zhaoqing, Guangdong, Lai held a deep appreciation for art. He shared the same lineage as the renowned Lingnan School master Li Xiongcai, and the two families maintained close ties, resulting in a distinguished collection of artworks. Works from Lai’s collection have been sold gradually through Christie’s auctions, achieving notable results.
