Lot Essay

The present watch, which was made especially for the Emirates Watch Club, exhibits a remarkable degree of artistry and attention to detail. Its most striking feature is definitely the dial, which is completely hand-decorated and made of German silver (maillechort), which is typically used for movement plates and bridges rather than dials. The watch has a very unique character thanks to this noble alloy, which is renowned for its warm metallic hue and natural patination over time. While the Breguet numerals and brand signature are painstakingly hand-engraved, the surface is enhanced by a diagonal brushed finish, giving the dial an artisanal depth and sophistication that is uncommon in contemporary horology.

The watch maintains the brand's patented hacking-release mechanism, which enables accurate time-setting even though it lacks a seconds display. The movement is stopped by pulling out the crown, and it is precisely restarted by pressing the pusher at four o'clock. At its heart beats the in-house, hand-wound calibre 100.1, a movement emblematic of the German school of watchmaking. It exhibits outstanding craftsmanship in its pillar architecture, large three-quarter bridge, and warmly finished surfaces with engraved balance cock, screwed gold chatons, and striped decoration. Furthermore, the movement boasts an impressive 41-hour power reserve.
