Specialist note
The present Royal Oak ref. 56238BA is a special and magnificent version of the renowned masterpiece created by Gérald Genta for Audemars Piguet. The watch instantly draws attention due to the eye-catching use of red jasper set into the bezel and bracelet links. Diamonds positioned along the lugs and also bracelet links further accentuate this striking chromatic statement, resulting in a pleasing interaction between vivid color and dazzling brilliance.
A gold dial with ten diamond-set hour markers completes the design, providing a harmonious and eye-catching contrast. Equipped with a date function, the watch is powered by the ultra-thin quartz calibre 2711, one of the manufacture’s earliest quartz movements, measuring an impressive 2.5 mm in thickness and based on a Girard-Perregaux ébauche.
With its distinctive hexagonal screws and 30 mm width, the iconic octagonal case guarantees comfort and a noticeable presence on the wrist. The vivid red jasper combined with the scintillation of diamonds results in a Royal Oak that is at once daring, luxurious, and unmistakably emblematic of Audemars Piguet’s creative audacity during the era.
