A Kutani tapering cylindrical jardiniere painted and gilt to the interior with a continuous scene of figures crossing bridges and pavilions amongst pine in a rocky river landscape, the exterior with a band of phoenix and birds perched on blossoming branches and pine within borders of stylised phoenix and lappets -- 12¼in. (31cm) high, two seal marks to base, (restored crack, enamel rubbing).
