Introduced in 1977 and produced until approximately 1988, the Rolex Day-Date reference 18038 represents an important evolution of Rolex’s flagship calendar wristwatch, marking the arrival of the five-digit Day-Date generation. Fitted with the upgraded caliber 3055, the reference is notably celebrated for its “single quick-set” function, allowing the date to be adjusted independently via the crown—an important technical advancement prior to the later double quick-set models. The present example is particularly lavish, distinguished by its lustrous mother of pearl dial adorned with diamond hour markers, while the diamond-set bezel further amplifies the model’s unmistakable air of opulence, making it an especially glamorous and highly attractive interpretation of this iconic President bracelet timepiece.
