At Watches & Wonders 2022, Patek Philippe introduced a new version of the platinum reference 5270 which replaced the popular salmon dial variant. The new model designated as reference 5270P-014 features a stunning green lacquered dial with a black gradient rim, creating a vignette effect.
There are subtle differences in this new variant. For example, the tachymeter is absent, a nod to the first-generation of 5270, giving the dial a cleaner and more minimalist design. Additionally the subdial fonts are now sans-serif, emphasizing this minimalism. The hands have also been updated—now faceted instead of leaf-shaped—and the applied gold hour markers are faceted with diamond-shaped tips.
The Reference 5270
The reference 5270 was first introduced at Baselworld in April 2011, replacing the celebrated reference 5970. This was Patek Philippe’s first perpetual calendar chronograph to feature an entirely in-house movement, the caliber 29-535 PS, and it bore the brand’s new hallmark of excellence, the 'PP' Seal.
