Faithorne's The Art of Graveing and Etching, wherein is exprest the true way of Graueing in Copper. alllso The manner and method of that famous Callot, & Mr. Bosse in their Seuerall ways of Etching. is a translation of Abraham Bosse's Traicté des Manieres de Graver... (see lot 43), and as such the earliest manual of the etching and engraving techniques in the English language, here in the rare first edition, comprising the etched title page, a dedication by Faithorne to Sir Robert Peake, the introduction by Faithorne, a eulogy by T. Flatman, an index and the main text with all ten engraved plates.
