While a number of porcelain boxes and covers in the famille rose palette were produced during the Qianlong period, Imperial tiered boxes appear to be very rare and no other box of this exact form and decoration appears to have been published.
A slightly larger famille rose circular box and cover (15.5 cm. diam.) with more naturalistic floral decoration and iron-red bats decorating the sides is in the Palace Museum collection, Beijing, illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures from the Palace Museum, Porcelains with Cloisonne Enamel Decoration and Famille Rose Decoration, Hong Kong, 1999, p. 115, no.99.
