NOTE:
The recipient was T.C. Lai (1921-2022), who graduated from the Department of English at the University of Hong Kong in 1942 and later served in London on diplomatic assignments. After returning to Hong Kong in 1949, he pursued a career in education and translation. A dedicated art patron, he was an advisor to the Hong Kong Museum of Art in the 1970s. After his retirement, he devoted himself to painting and calligraphy, holding several solo exhibitions.
