Lot Essay

Introduced in 1949 and produced for about a decade, this model was one of Patek Philippe's earliest water-resistant wristwatches, featuring a screw-down back. Executed predominantly in yellow gold, with pink gold and steel examples being far scarcer, the ref. 2451 remains a quietly important forerunner to the modern Calatrava.
