The distinctive aesthetic profile created by this stunning colour combination is regarded as the most desirable of all the reference, of incredible exclusivity, reference 3990 was produced in very small numbers between 1995 and 2005, the majority cased in yellow gold or platinum, to find a pink gold example at auction is an extremely unusual occurence. The perpetual calendar chronograph wristwatch is more closely associated with Patek Philippe than perhaps any other model other than the Nautilus. In fact, Patek Philippe were the first company to produce perpetual calendar chronographs in series, an achievement that no other manufacturer could match for almost half a century. A reputation that is undimmed to the present day.
This dazzlingly luxurious timepiece is one of the great rarities among Patek Philippe’s gem-set Grand Compliction range. Now discontinued for over 20 years, the present watch provides collectors with perhaps the only opportunity for the forseeable future to acquire an example of a ‘pink on pink’ reference 3990.
