Introduced at Baselworld in 2017, reference 5320G marked the arrival of an entirely new perpetual calendar within Patek Philippe's collection. While thoroughly modern in construction, its design draws heavily upon some of the manufacture's most celebrated vintage creations. The applied Arabic numerals recall those of the legendary reference 1518, here enhanced with luminous material for improved legibility, while the 18k white gold case takes inspiration from Patek Philippe's 1940s designs. Particularly distinctive are the elegant three-tiered stepped lugs, reminiscent of those found on vintage references such as reference 2405.
Unveiled at Watches & Wonders in 2022, the present reference 5320G-011 introduced a highly attractive salmon-coloured dial, lending the model an unmistakably vintage character and striking wrist presence. The warm tone of the dial contrasts beautifully with the cool white gold case, while the symmetrical perpetual calendar display maintains exceptional clarity despite the complexity of the indications. Powering the watch is the self-winding calibre 324 S Q, which mechanically accounts for months of different lengths and leap years, requiring no calendar correction until the year 2100, provided the watch remains running.
