Lot Essay

The present timepiece perfectly reflects the heritage, traditional craftsmanship, and refined aesthetic that have long defined Audemars Piguet. Combining two of high watchmaking's most celebrated complications, a tourbillon and a chronograph, it exemplifies the manufacture's ability to unite technical sophistication with timeless elegance.

The Jules Audemars collection was named in honour of Jules Louis Audemars, one of the manufacture's two founders, and conceived as the classical counterpart to Audemars Piguet's more avant-garde creations. Characterised by restrained round cases and finely balanced dials, the collection provided an ideal canvas for the manufacture's most accomplished complications.

The present example, cased in 18K pink gold, is distinguished by its harmonious and highly legible dial. Pink gold Roman numerals frame the display, while the one-minute tourbillon is prominently showcased through an aperture at 6 o'clock and balanced by the 30-minute chronograph register at 3 o'clock. Combining refined proportions with exceptional mechanical complexity, the present timepiece stands as an elegant expression of Audemars Piguet's enduring mastery of traditional high watchmaking.
