The present timepiece belongs to an exceptionally exclusive limited edition of only 300 examples, commissioned for Metropolitan Police officers serving within the Royalty and Specialist Protection (RaSP) branch. Created to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the watch celebrates the historic milestone of her 70-year reign and the close association between RaSP officers and the protection of the Royal Family.
Its special purpose is immediately apparent on the dial, which is adorned with a finely detailed Royal Tudor Rose, a powerful emblem of British heritage and continuity. The otherwise restrained execution lends the watch a distinctly ceremonial character, discreetly commemorating an extraordinary moment in British history.
The caseback further distinguishes this highly unusual edition. It is engraved with the Royal Cypher 'E II R' and Royal Crown, the use of which required special permission from the Royal Household. Each watch was furthermore personalised with the individual warrant number of the officer for whom it was made, providing a direct link to its original owner and reinforcing its official provenance.
