Introduced in 2006 to mark the 30th anniversary of the Nautilus, reference 5711 represented a faithful yet contemporary reinterpretation of Gérald Genta’s original reference 3700 of 1976. While preserving the unmistakable aesthetic of its predecessor, the reference 5711 features a three-part case measuring approximately 1 mm. wider and slightly thicker than the original, together with a sapphire crystal caseback offering a view of the automatic movement within.
Unveiled at Watches & Wonders in April 2021, reference 5711/1A-014 introduced an entirely new olive-green dial to the Nautilus collection. Its horizontally embossed surface is enhanced by a subtle sunburst finish, giving the dial a constantly changing appearance according to the light while retaining the restrained elegance that has long defined the model.
The olive-green reference was introduced following the discontinuation of the celebrated blue-dialled reference 5711/1A-010 and during the final year of production of the stainless steel reference 5711. Produced for only a remarkably brief period, the 5711/1A-014 consequently represents one of the final and most distinctive iterations of the legendary stainless steel Nautilus reference 5711.
