Lot Essay

This sketchbook bears a blue paper cover and holds about sixteen sketches and drawings, some worked on both sides of the page. Twelve landscapes, two street scenes and two figural scenes comprise the collection. One drawing relates to the oil L'Île, la Seine (étude) (Location unknown; D. 2079), which is reproduced in the fourth volume of J. and H. Dauberville's Bonnard, catalogue raisonné de l'oeuvre peint.
