A pair of Shibayama style gold lacquer bottle vases
modelled as sacks, applied with silver handles and three feet modelled as rats flanking silk tassels tying the sacks, decorated with shaped panels inlaid in mother-of-pearl, ivory, horn and coral with a warrior and Tengu below prunus branches, the other with a monkey and two oni beside a cart among similar flowers and a meandering stream, the reverses with panels depicting birds among chrysanthemums and peonies, the interiors in nashiji -- 6.in (15.2cm) high, signed on mother-of-pearl tablets, (some inlay missing).
