decorated in iroe hiramakie, takamakie, kirigane and inlaid in wood and stained ivory with a leaping carp above breaking waves, below chrysanthemum and prunus branches issuing from rockwork, the interior in nashiji -- 4¼.in (10.8cm) long, signed, (small inlay missing) ; with attached Shibayama style ivory manju netsuke inlaid in horn, mother-of-pearl and stained ivry with a bird on leafy branches -- 1½.in (3.8cm) diam, signed on a mother-of-pearl tablet, (some inlay missing).
