A Japanese export lacquer oval portrait medallion
decorated in gold hiramakie and kinji on a roironuri ground with bust of Caesar facing right, inscribed CAESAR to one side and L.AELIUS on the opposite side, the reverse with two lines of inscriptions, attached brass hanging ring -- 4¾.in (12.1cm) long, 18th Century, (three minute chips to rim).
