A Japanese thistle shaped jardiniere painted and gilt to the exterior with a broad band of blossoming prunus and peonies issuing from rockwork above further sprays of lotus, prunus and chrysanthemums, the interior with similar floral decoration, the rim with a band of demi flowerheads -- 15½in. (39.3cm) diam, circa 1700, (minor fritting).
