lined in blue plush and leather and containing seven glass toilet jars and bottles, the engraved covers with vacant cartouches, and several manicure implements with mother-of-pearl handles, the lid fitted with mirror, the body with lift-out tray concealing a compartment for jewellery, the hinged cover with a shield-shaped cartouche engraved with initials, the underside of a wooden lid gilt with a maker's mark: "Russell & Jackson, Sheffield, Manufacturers of dressing cases & razor strops" - length of dressing case 12¼in.
