the hood with swan neck pediment above reeded tapering column uprights flanking a painted square Roman dial with inner date ring, the chapter ring signed Jno. Oakes, Oldham, the centre painted with a scene of gentleman fishing, the spandrals with figures of young maidens, the four pillar movement with anchor escapemnet and bell strike, the false plate stamped WM WHITAKER, the trunk with square section cluster column pilasters flanking a panel door with triple arch moulded top, the plinth with reeded canted angles on bracket feet, basically second quarter 19th century -- 58¼in. (148cm) high
