pre-war style - an un-issued prototype, turned and hand tooled nickel-silver 2-6-0 Southern Mogul, diecast Hornby-Dublo spoked wheels, matching six-wheel tender cast from pre-war mould, an un-issued brass prototype Box Van, hand finished, tan van, grey roof and black diecast wheels, an un-issued hand tooled nickel-silver goods wagon (same design as pre-war from set 18, but of simpler design), painted in brown, a post-war casting of passenger coach from set 17 with prototype modified brass base and hooks, two coach body castings and Set 17 Locomotive casting (rear only), all painted metallic blue (F-G) (8)

Lot Essay

These were probably a trial attempt to re-introduce a range of push-along train sets, post-war. From the colours used to finish the models, these could have been planned in the 1950s or finished as late as the 1960s.
