A pair of Cantonese flattened baluster vases and covers with Buddhistic lion finials and guei dragon handles, painted and gilt with shaped panels of figures at leisure on terraces overlooking river landscapes, all on grounds of scrolling foliage and scattered flowerheads -- 10¾in. (27.5cm.) high, 8th Century, (two handles damaged, one cover chipped.)
