Lot Essay

Kerby is listed in The Dictionary of English Furniture Makers 1660-1840, Beard and Gilbert, Furniture History Society, 1986, p.509 "A late George III simulated rosewood writing table stamped Kerby, 55 Oxford Street, included in Christie's sale, 24th November, 1977, lot 51". It is interesting to note that the above lot is stamped 545 and not 55.
