A needlework casket depicting scenes from the life of Rebecca, worked in coloured silks, chenille and metal purl, the top depicting the meeting of Rebecca and Eliezer at the Well, the smaller panels with animals and flowers including a lion and unicorn, the interior fitted with drawers and compartments, with an inner compartment with a writing tray with bottles, the inside lid fitted with a mirror revealing a coloured print of a maritime scene, lined in salmon pink silk with appliqué satin stitch pinks on the interior front compartment, the panels framed with a tortoise-shell veneer--10 x 11.5 x 7.5in.
