the brass-lined case with handle to bell top, glazed panels to the sides, the door with fielded brass-lined quaretr panels to a circular glass, on rectangular base with block feet, the silvered and engraved dial with strike/silent lever to top right, bearing the signature below the chapter ring Ellicott London, the twin chain fusee movement with anchor escapement and strike on bell, pendulum holdfast to the backplate with later foliate engraved decoration and repeat signature; associated, the case early 19th century, movement 19th century and adapted, dial later -- 15½in. (39.5cm.) high
