Each with a deep back-scrolled top-rail, on Ionic capital reeded uprights with Ionic capitals, the drop-in seat covered in striped fabric above a channelled seat-rail on ring-turned tapering legs, all the chairs stamped Moon, all the chairs re-blocked

A William Moon, of Lancaster is recorded in the Dictionary of English Furniture Makers, 1660-1840, Maney, 1986, as an apprentice of Lancaster and Oxford St., London, on 7th April 1827 (4)
