A famille rose armorial tankard of barrel form, painted and gilt with central crest with a crowned lion holding a sceptre and sword below the motto 'In Defence' above the gilt monogram 'BL' on a ground of scattered flowers below a rim of chain pattern and floral garlands -- 6½in (16.5cm) high, 18th century, (crack to body and base of handle, small rim chips, slight enamel rubbing).
