An Arita bowl painted and gilt to the interior and exterior with panels of Dutchmen standing in conversation and boats with their sails unfurled flying flags from the masts, the interior with a central Buddhistic lion roundel -- 6¾in. (17cm) diam, 18th century, (rim with chip and hairline crack running from it, star crack to base).
