A George III lidded tankard
of tapering circular form and on a flaring foot, with moulded body band and rim, scroll handle with heart-shaped terminal and domed hinged cover with scroll thumb piece, the body later-chased with flowers, foliage, fruit and trelliswork and engraved with an armorial with motto beneath, the cover later-chased with game birds and a hound, maker's initials T.W., London 1775 - 8in. (20.25cm.), 24.50oz.
