A Victorian two-bottle inkstand
of shaped oblong form and on foliate feet, applied with a gallery pierced with rococo flowers, foliage and C-scrolls and with two conforming inkwells, one with blue vase-shaped glass liner, the other with ruby vase-shaped glass liner, the centre with a circular wafer box fitted with a detachable taperstick with double scroll handle and conical snuffer, one side of the inkstand with a moulded pen rest, the other with presentation inscription, George Richards & Edward Brown, London 1864 - 11¼in. (28.50cm.), weight excluding glass inkwells 26.25oz.
