A FINE CASED PAIR OF GERMAN PERCUSSION RIFLED TARGET PISTOLS

With browned octagonal sighted rifled barrels each signed in gold at the breech, inlaid with gold lines at the muzzle and 'Guss Stahl Rohr' in gold at the breech, foliate engraved case-hardened breeches, tangs en suite, numbered 1 and 2 in gold respectively and fitted with adjustable back-sights, foliate engraved case-hardened locks each with pierced hammer and sprung safety bolster, highly figured walnut butts carved with foliage at the fore-ends, fluted butts, case-hardened iron mounts decorated en suite with the locks including spur trigger-guards and shaped pommel-caps each incorporating a trophy of arms, and much original finish: in original walnut veneered case lined in green velvet and with full accessories (lid with two repaired splits), the exterior with brass carrying handle
