An early 19th-Century brass universal equinoctial ring dial,
signed Troughton and Simms London, the meridian ring with sliding suspension ring, engraved on one side with two quadrants, the other with declination scale, the pivoted equinoctial ring with twice I-XII hour scales, the inner edge engraved with divisions of 15 and 5 minutes of time, the bridge with sliding pin-hole sight, engraved with zodiac and calendar scales -- 6.1/4in. (15.l8cm.) dia.
