the rounded rectangular top with a reeded edge above two frieze drawers opposed by dummy drawers, on reeded supports and downswept legs joined by a stretcher, (possibly later), stamped GILLINGTONS 7801 59½in. (151cm.) wide

Lot Essay

Gillingtons are recorded in the Dictionary of English Furniture Makers 1660-1840, made "Regency brass inlaid sofa table, rectangular top, and two drawers in frieze on four turned supports and sabre legs, sold at Sotheby's, 12 January 1979, lot 218" bears a stamp "GILLINGTONS 3009"
