of typical form, painted with floral motifs on a green ground, two swing handles to the sides, a cartouche-shaped faux escutcheon to the front, the locking mechanism shooting eight bolts, the cover plate painted with a spray of flowers, with key, probably German, 17th century -- 20½in. (52cm) wide
