A well engineered 1in. scale model of the single cylinder two speed four shaft General Purpose Traction Engine 'Sarah Jane' built by Maxwell Hemmens with silver soldered copper boiler stamped 89397 with normal fittings, the cylinder 5/8in. bore x 1 1/8in. stroke, bar type crosshead guides, mechanical lubricator, Stephenson's link reverse, counterbalanced crankshaft, two road speeds, eccentric driven feed pump and by-pass and spoked flywheel. Chassis details include worm and roller chain steering, spoked, straked wheels with brass hubcaps, sprung front axle, damper, cable drum, cable and fairleads, band brake to fourth shaft and half length canopy, finished in green, red and black and polished brightwork, the canopy sideboards lettered 'Maxwell Hemmens, Engineers.
